Utah Court Reporters Association is dedicated to supporting and promoting the court reporting and CART-captioning professions in Utah. UCRA is made up of volunteers committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity and excellence in the industry. We support our members with official testing and certification, news and information, legislative advocacy, and providing public and professional education.

Using state-of-the-art technology, Utah’s Court Reporters and CART Captioners maintain the highest standards of speed and accuracy in the field of court reporting and CART captioning. Both professionals are certified to translate the spoken word into text at 225 words per minute.

Court Reporters
Court Reporters are an integral part of our judicial system. They play an important role not only in judicial proceedings, but at every meeting where the spoken word must be preserved as a written transcript. Court Reporters are responsible for ensuring a complete, accurate, and secure legal record.
Translators for the hearing impaired
CART Captioners
CART Captioners are responsible for providing high quality translation to the hearing impaired. CART Captioners work in schools, churches, business meetings, conferences, sports games, theater shows, TV stations, everywhere written translation may be needed.
